Report for 06/26/2009
Salt Water
MEXICO BEACH/PORT ST JOE OFFSHORE
The Snapper and Grouper bite is steady this week. Reports have the best numbers at 25-40 miles out. The Mangrove or grey, Snapper bite is good on near shore structures. Live bait is plentiful and will continue to be easy to catch at the buoys and over wrecks and reefs close in.
The dolphin bite reports have been steady, and reports have put them 20 to 40 miles out. Look for the weed lines and then troll small Boone jet baits or ballyhoo.
The king mackerel bite is in full gear with good numbers caught near shore and on off shore structures. Look for bait schools around the bottom structure and along the buoy line. Your best bet is trolling dusters and flat lining over structure where bait is holding.
The Spanish bite has b...

I’m a happily married man, but after my visit to Donut Island on Thomas Drive and indulging a gourmet donut known as the “Chunky Monkey,” I had to recheck my vows to be sure a relationship with a donut wasn’t considered adultery. Lucky for me, I’m in the clear.
Donut Island is not your typical donut and coffee shop. In fact, established by two navy divers, it is one of the most unique establishments I’ve ever encountered, putting a spin on donuts and breakfast you’ll never see coming.
Two words come to mind when you enter Donut Island; fresh and refreshing. First off, the donuts are the healthiest donuts around. That’s not a misprint. All the donuts are made fresh each morning and have 0% trans fat. That’s only part of it. They do a hot breakfast and lunch as well. I had...

As the sun set on Panama City Beach, a little bit of New Orleans crept into Pier Park in the form of one riveting performance by Cyril Neville of the Neville Brothers. Scores of people came out to enjoy a concert that had just the right amount of smooth Jazz, Soul and what I can only describe as Louisiana flavor to make a musical afternoon an all-out party. While Hofbrau served up the brats, beer and burgers tourists and locals laid back and listened to a fantastic show.
If you missed this weeks show, catch the next free concert in the park July 2: The Lee Griffin Band
Here is a pic recap of Cyril Neville:

Located on a perfect cut of sunny gulf-front, from nearly every angle throughout the building guests enjoy beach views whether working out in the fitness center, lounging around the over-flow pool or while gazing off rounded private balconies at a beach sunset. As I toured the property, enjoying the grounds, the rooms and the great views it became apparent that, although I’d seen lots of accommodations on Panama City Beach, I hadn’t experienced any place quite like Sterling Breeze. The startling difference is the attention to every detail.
