Shipwreck Island Waterpark is without doubt one of my favorite and most frequently visited places on the beach. I am 100% sure that after you’ve been and taken the splashy ride down White Knuckle River you’ll be singing the same tune. Loaded with dynamic rides, food and drinks stops at every corner and a truly tropical feel, Shipwreck is about as much watery fun one can have in one place. As history comes alive again, the newest addition to Pier Park is a blast from the Miracle Strip past.  The original Herschell carousel that was born and lived its life in the now closed Miracle Strip Amusement Park is open in Pier Park and will be the mother of many more sweet memories in the years to come. Teddy Meeks, local photographer and dreamer had the idea a year ago when he first walked the magical streets of Pier Park in Panama City Beach.  “I knew there had to be something for the kids to do,” said Meeks.  The idea of a carousel was perfect for the colorful atmosphere.
