Panama City Beach Thunder Beach Week – Venue Directions
It’s that time of year where Panama City Beach will roar with thunder. That’s right people, it’s Thunder Beach Week, starting April 30th through May 3rd. Anyone who has experienced previous bike rallies on Panama City Beach you know how exciting they can be. But this year’s event might be the biggest and best yet. “We’re definitely expecting huge turnout this year.” Says Corky McCollum, A Thunder Beach Productions coordinator. “We’ve got bigger events, more venues and the total numbers of vendors have increased considerably.” Regarded by many as the “most biker friendly free rally in the United States”, the Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally is always a big event. This years schedule for bike week is substantial and the venues cover the entire beach. The...

Airboat Rides on the Swamp Vette
If you are looking for an “eco-friendly” adventure through the protected waters of West Bay in Panama City Beach, then Captain Rick Ackerman with Airboat Adventures is your man.  You may remember him from our article on the Betsy Ann Riverboat – well, murder mystery cruises aren’t the only trick up his sleeve. 7 minutes up Highway 79, under the new bridge that spans West Bay lies Airboat Adventures – the tag line reads: “Bay County’s #1 Eco Tour Company.”  Guiding you to the boats, a cartoon gator points the way to the parking lot.  As we pull in, Captain Rick directs us to where he wants us to park. I have my brother with me, who was visiting from out of town, and we’re all excited to experience an airboat ride.  I’d never do...

Shipwreck Island Waterpark
Shipwreck Island Waterpark is without doubt one of my favorite and most frequently visited places on the beach. I am 100% sure that after you’ve been and taken the splashy ride down White Knuckle River you’ll be singing the same tune. Loaded with dynamic rides, food and drinks stops at every corner and a truly tropical feel, Shipwreck is about as much watery fun one can have in one place. Big palm trees and colorful landscaping cover the twenty-acre park, so as soon as you walk through the gates, you know you’ve come to a special place. Shipwreck has something for everyone. If you are adventurous, you’ll love Pirate’s Plunge. For the small kids there is a super-fun tadpole hole and children’s activity center. And if you’re like me and just want to ...

Giant big screen televisions wrap around the entire place, live blues bands play nearly every weekend, the food is amazing and the drinks…oh, man the drinks, are true beach perfection. Plain and simple, Pier Bar is one of Panama City Beach’s all-time good-time places . In fact, Pier Bar made our list of top 10 places to watch the game. If you’re in the mood for music, here is the Summer band schedule. Stop by, enjoy the music and we’ll see you there. APRIL 23-24-25    HARMONICA...

Gulf Coast Horseshow
The 11th annual Gulf Coast Charity Horse Show and Music Festival returns to Panama City Beach April 22-25th at Frank Brown Park. If you read the title and thought “why go to the beach for horses?” you may not realize what you’d be missing. This isn’t your typical equestrian event. The Horse Show is an entertainment extravaganza complete with good music, clowns, door prizes, children’s amusement rides, artwork and outstanding food – it may be the perfect reason to take the kids to Frank Brown and have a ball. General admission is $12.00 and children under 6 get in free. Here’s what to expect: “The entertainment for 2009 is “LEGENDS OF THE BEACH” (Formerly The Embers) Friday and Saturday after the show, “ENTICE”, from Nashville, TN Thursday after the show, and ...
