Cobra Adventure Park
Real Adventure
Looking for some excitement? Cobra Adventure Park has just what you need. They have a four story go-cart track, a state-of-the-art arcade, miniature golf course, and the Wild Thing and the Vertical Accelerator.
The go-carts are what initially sparked my curiosity, and I was not disappointed. I’m sure that pretty much everyone has ridden go-carts at some point in their life, but not quite like this. There are four stories of wood panel track including twists, turns, and the occasional dive down to the bottom. As I climbed the winding road up the four levels my heart raced because once I made it to the top me and my cart zoomed all the way back down. One of the most fun parts however, is trying to out-maneuver friends and family. I know this may sound mean, but it was exhilarating to bump past my dad and cut him off on a hard right. If you have a child that wants to join the fun, Cobra offers double seated go-carts for parents and children. It is about nine dollars a person for five minutes on the track. In those five minutes you will get a new appreciation for NASCAR, trust me.
The eighteen-hole mini-golf course was a great way to relax after the intense go-carting, and if you have read any of my other articles you might know I’m a mini-golfing machine. This course was an interesting one as most of it was inside the go-cart track, but surprisingly the rumble of the carts didn’t mess up any of our shots. This was a great break between Cobra Adventure Park’s more thrilling rides, and it only cost about ten dollars a person.
Next up, me and my family hit the arcade. It is lined wall to wall with the newest and most advanced gaming equipment including the Max Flight virtual rollercoaster. The Max Flight simulator rotates and spins like a real rollercoaster. They also have the classic arcade amenities like skee-ball, basketball, and air hokey. Like all arcade Cobra Adventure Park gives out tickets redeemable for some cool souvenirs. I didn’t do as well as I had hoped so I only went home with a sucker, but my sister won a stuffed dog.
These last two attractions are for pure adrenalin junkies: the Wild Thing and the Vertical Accelerator. The Wild Thing can only be described as a giant pinwheel with seats on the end that just spins and spins. It’s sounds simple but, if you are taking the ride, simple isn’t the word you’d use to describe the utter exhilaration. The Vertical Accelerator is a more common ride on the beach, but is still amazing. It is essentially a seat connected to two large rubber bands that pull back and thrust you over six hundred feet in the air. It cost about twenty dollars per person to ride either of these two rides.
Cobra Adventure Park offers a package deal to those who want to try it all for forty five dollars per person, which includes go-carts, mini golfing, The Wild Thing and The Accelerator. They also offer reduced pricing on all attractions before six o’clock similar to a matinee show at a movie theatre.
Cobra Adventure Park is located at 9323 Front Beach Rd Panama City Beach, FL 32407 For more information you can call Cobra Adventure Park at 850-235-0321.
